CHA BOUND

Hebie and I (Jodi) are off to LA on Thursday to attend CHA. We are very excited to be visiting such a fabulous show.

You may have heard the initials CHA bandied about the place yet have no idea what that means?! Well it stands for Craft & Hobby Association of America and is essentially the body that organises the largest Craft Trade Show in the USA. It’s a great place for us as retailers to visit as there are a huge number of companies all displaying their products under one roof. It is a real trade show where you look only and cannot buy, so while it will be fun to visit we will not be returning loaded down with products but we will have placed a few orders (just a “few” J) for the upcoming months and we look forward to reporting back to you all, to whet your appetite with all that is on offer.

While we are away we will be endeavouring to update the blog! Fingers crossed that there are hotel computers as we will not have a laptop with us this time around.

POINT OF SALE SYSTEM

Over the last few months we have been working tirelessly on inputting a Point of Sale system into the shop. We will be going live with this mid-February. We are really looking forward to this being “live” as it will assist us tremendously with stock numbers and keeping track of class payments for you.

We would also like to ask a favour of you? If you manage to be in the shop during the first few days of operation please forgive us if we are a little bit slow with the processing?

Thank you in advance!

SHOP CLOSED

The shop will be closed on Monday 30th January for Auckland Anniversary and Monday 6th February for Waitangi Day.

NEW BEGINNERS 101 COURSE

Cherie has completely revamped the Beginners 101 course. It is now a four week long course that covers many topics and the layouts that she has created as the basis of the course are stunning.

See Classes for all the details…

PIECES OF ME – New Group commencing!

Most of us scrapbookers are busy scrapping our families, children, holidays, Christmases etc etc. But when do you actually scrap for you? Or more importantly, about you? We are fairly confident the answer would be “never!”. So if you are keen to document your life too then now’s the time to jump in. Tina is starting a new group on the 14th February.

Again, see inside the Class Schedule for all the details…

2012 – AN EVENT-FULL YEAR?

Well, we hope so!

There are a few things “up my sleeve” at the moment that I am awaiting confirmation of but if they come off it will be an exciting year!

Watch this space…

There was a very positive response to the All Day Crop we had with our Birthday Celebrations last year and we listened to you and will certainly be doing a few of those throughout this year.

We’re also looking at some more International Tutors to share knowledge and skills with us and mid-year we will be at SENZ again. This year SENZ is in Hamilton – Just down the road!

THE NEW ZEALAND PAPER CHASE

Another excellent issue of the ONLY NZ Scrapbooking magazine is out and about. There are many inspiring layouts in it again.

Did you know that one of our regular customers, Gwen Kirman, is a regular contributor to the magazine. Gwen’s work is beautiful!

We were also lucky enough to have two of our tutors invited to submit for the shortlist of contributors for 2012. We await the news as to whether they will be part of the mag this year or not? Fingers crossed…

HOUSEKEEPING…

Class Bookings Process

If you are interested in participating in any of the  classes we offer, you can do one of the following:

Ø  Email your booking/s to us at info@scrapaholics.co.nz

Ø  Phone the shop on 533-5490

Ø  Fax the attached booking form to us on 533-5491

Ø  Purchase the classes from our website.

Ø  Or call in and see us at Shop 9, 219 Moore Street, Howick.

Confirmation of ALL Class Bookings

For all “non-verbal” bookings you will receive a confirmation email from Sarah confirming your pencilled spot in the class. If you do not receive an email please DO NOT assume that you are in. If you make multiple bookings at once please double check which classes you are confirmed for.

Please remember that your booking is not be definite until you have paid half of the class cost.  The remaining balance can then be paid at the time of the class. This means therefore, that if there is a waiting list for this class, your “spot” will be offered to the first person on the waiting list, should we not receive a deposit.  When booking your class please ask for and keep your receipt as proof of payment.

Basic Tool Kit

Please note that we expect all class participants to carry their basic tool kit with them. We have described what the Basic Tool Kit consists of on page 2 of our class list for your convenience. Please take a moment to check that you have those items in your kit.
